The Elloree Heritage Museum & Cultural Center, Inc. is hosting a program, Soldier Life During the War Between There is no charge for the program but reservations are required and may be made by calling the museum at 803-897-2225. Mark Trimmier, an avid historian from Orangeburg, and a board member of the museum, is facilitating the program, which will cover what it was like at camp during the war. Trimmier’s personal War Between the States collection as well as an exhibit entitled Civil War Families is on display at the museum in the gallery upstairs. An elevator is available. Elloree was not a town during the war, but many Elloree area families had loved ones who served. The exhibit has personal stories of some of these families along with documents, pages from diaries, photos, maps, and special items. The doors will open at 6pm prior to the program to allow time to view these exhibits in advance. There will be plenty of time after the program. For more information or to reserve a seat, call Elloree Heritage Museum at 803-897-2225.
